There was a demand from the locality and also from the student’s section to open a B.Ed college in this area. So, a group of social workers
and eminent educationists led by “Bibhuti Bhusan Bandapadhya Philanthropic Society” took the initiative in establishing this institution
named as “Krishnanagar B.Ed College” on 4th August, 2005. The college is managed and run by the “Bibhuti Bhusan Bandapadhya Philanthropic
Society”, duly registered under Societies Registration Act, 1961, Regn. No. being S/IL/22173 of 2004-2005. The krishnanagar B.Ed College is
the first self-finance Bachelor of Education college in the Nadia district. It is affiliated to the University of Kalyani and recognized by
National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). From the very beginning, this institution has been on the road to steady progress, thus
catering to the need to produce efficient teachers for the society.
Krishnanagar B.Ed College is ideally situated in a completely noise-free area of the city, as well as is easily accessible from the rail
station and bus-terminus of Krishnagar. The college campus creates an ideal learner-centric environment where in the students-teachers
would be groomed in various ways intellectually, physically and psychologically to the requirements of modern India.
The College offers a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) course under the university of The West Bengal University of Teachers' Training, Education Planning and Administration. The strength of this course is 100.
The upper ceiling of Admission Fees for B.Ed. programme (2 year) in the private / self-financing colleges shall continue to be Rs' 75,000/- (Rupees seventy-fivethousand) only per annum per student, inclusive of Development Fees, and a 'Refundable Caution Money' of Rs. 5,000 (five thousand) only. Hostel charges, where applicable, and University Examination Fees may be reached separately.
Candidates with at least 50% marks in Bachelor’s Degree / Master’s Degree or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible to apply for admission to the Programme. There shall a relaxation of marks for candidates belonging to reserved categories and physically challenged categories as per the Rules of the Government of West Bengal.
